June 22nd, part one. Sunday morning visit to the Museé David d'Angers and the Museé des Beaux-Arts d'Angers. Most photos below are from the Museé David d'Angers. Pierre-Jean David (1788 – 1856) was a French sculptor and native of Angers, France. This museum is built in the ruins of a medieval abbey—a brilliant setting for his work. The very last photo below comes from the Museé des Beaux-Arts d'Angers—and is a work of David d'Angers' teacher.
