The Tower and the Town

June 14th, part two. On the Loire—the city of Saumur—a Saturday market in centreville. And yes, the food photo everyone has been expecting.

June 14th, part one. The village church (circa 1727) is being renovated, hence the scaffolding around the bell tower. Yes, it looks like a modern sculpture, but it isn't. And anyone interested in climbing the scaffolding was invited to show up at nine this morning to ascend—as far as desired—to see the view. I made it as to the level of the clock—and decided that the view from there was just fine. The view was great and I should have gone higher, but have never been good with heights. But—be it known—I wasn't the only one to decide that it was quite high enough!

June 13th. Another beautiful day. Another long walk in the the country. And another day in the studio. Truly doesn't get any better than this.
